Gen Z audiences on this platform love raw content, which means repurposing your content from other platforms will be futile. Put your time and effort into creating something original and engaging with the types of content that TikTok already loves to see – like clever takes on memes, comedy skits, challenges, and more.
Make sure all your content demonstrates your true personality so that users are able to build a relationship with you. This relationship means that users will eventually follow you, as they are invested in wanting to know more about you and will want to see more of your original content. This goes for brands as well as individuals.

Hack #4: Start collaborating with existing influencers
Before you’re officially a beloved TikTok account, it can be a great idea to start working with those that are! We worked with a watch brand to do exactly that. By partnering with influencers to create content, organise influencer takeovers and create duets, we were able to drive views and followers to their profile.
We used three particular influencers, asking them to post the first part of a two-part post on their own account, before taking over the clients account for part two. This drove 1,000 followers to the account in only two days. It reached 1.6million, with 800k views. Not bad for a brand-new TikTok account!
Hack#5: Incorporate good storytelling
We have seen a huge rise in this type of content recently from the #makeitstop challenge to what’s known as POV content. This involves users creating their own episodes on the platform, in which they assume the role of a character or constructed identity.
We’ve seen users create their own stories and ‘episodes’ with each new TikTok video upload, making storytelling the focus of each post. Users have been so excited to find out what happens next, so they are strongly encouraged to follow the user to keep up with new episodes.
We have seen users jump from 10,000 followers to 100,000 with this technique! Just take a look at this video by @kingvictober, who takes on the role of ‘Stacey’ and racks up over 3 million views for every video. She’d grown a serious following with the episodic videos, due to her flawless storytelling and hilarious and engaging character building. Watch more below!
